As the year comes to a close, we want to recognize 3 incredible organizations that put the youth of our community first when it comes to giving:
Each organization has made a significant contribution through this new Community Champion Level Sponsorship. 2025 is the first year we have done this, and we are looking forward to bringing more organizations and companies into the fold in the future.
Due to this new initiative, Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Fredericksburg was able to do new and exciting things with our program in 2025 that helped strengthen the mentorship matches we provide. Thanks to our Community Champions, Bigs & Littles were able to experience fun and engaging match activities within the community, become more connected to fellow volunteer mentors, and receive day-to-day guidance that our staff provides to ensure every match is strong and supported.
The funds also support staff check-ins, ensuring the mentorships are not only effective, but also safe, supported, and encouraged. Our program staff were able to be quick and helpful in responding when challenges came up within our mentorships—whether that meant offering resources to a struggling family or giving a Big advice on how to navigate a tough conversation with their Little.
BBBS Greater Fredericksburg Community Champion Sponsors received top benefits for promotional opportunities and to engage in our exciting events, including:
Benefits from our top sponsorships at Bowl For Kids’ Sake, Golf For Kids’ Sake, and SantaCon fundraising events - these include tickets/registrations and marketing at the event.
At those events, they received recognition awards for your participation and verbal recognition in front of our guests.
Their linked logo is on our website and every monthly newsletter, which has a high open rate.
A video interview spotlighting their organization on social media.
A press release highlighting their generosity.
And finally, this opportunity to connect with the BBBS Greater Fredericksburg Board Executive Team.
These benefits are not just “thank-yous,” but are a way to show the Greater Fredericksburg community who is lifting up our local youth, defending their potential, and investing into the community. It also signals to local leaders and potential volunteers that mentoring matters and in order to achieve a successful, fruitful community, we must invest in the social, emotional, and academic well-being of our youth.

Our BBBS Greater Fredericksburg's Community Champions, Board Members, and staffs' focus is clear: stronger recruitment, quality support, and community connections. We will continue to keep our eyes on the realities our families are facing, and while we can’t solve every issue, what we can do is to focus on our mission to ensure that children facing these circumstances have a mentor in their corner, someone who reminds them they matter and who stays consistent when everything else feels uncertain.
